Not your typical Gift Guide here.
A trend which has gained traction over the past few years on social media is the “four gift rule”. Parents pledge to give their offspring just four presents: Something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read. I love the idea of these four “gifts” and I think the idea behind them is entirely applicable to what we want for ourselves. 2020 has been rough—we’ve all had ups and downs—so while I’m focused on finishing December out strong, I’m also looking ahead. I would love to hear from you all about what you want to “Gift Yourself” going into 2021.
Take it as literal or as figurative as you want (except the last one—I’d love to pull together a master list of books and articles recommended by everyone, FOR everyone!)—But let’s celebrate ourselves and all we’ve accomplished this year, and get amped about the year ahead. What do YOU want to gift yourself for 2021? And bonus—how are you going to work to give yourself these presents?!Remember not all of these need to be tangible: Something You Want— A new job? A new house? Re-do your office space? Something You Need —To make more time for yourself? A raise? Pay off your student loans?Something To Wear—Again, tangible or intangible–a new title at work? A new bag? A new haircut? Something To Read—what book has helped you that you would recommend to others? What book helped fuel your fire, and spoke to your soul?
